E50 Exosome Therapy

The latest development in skin and hair regeneration. E50 exosomes are applied after gentle microneedling or CO2 laser to support skin renewal, calm redness and encourage a healthier scalp. New at our Southwell clinic, near Nottingham.

About E50 Exosomes

E50 exosome therapy is a regenerative treatment in which bio-active exosomes, tiny vesicles that carry proteins, lipids and nucleic acids between cells, are applied to the skin or scalp straight after microneedling or CO2 laser. It aims to support skin renewal, calm inflammation and improve hair quality. It is available at Skin Anatomy in Southwell, Nottinghamshire.

Exosomes are one of the most talked-about developments in aesthetic skin science. They are tiny vesicles, far smaller than cells, that cells naturally release to communicate with one another. Each exosome carries a cargo of bio-molecules, including proteins, lipids and nucleic acids, that can influence how neighbouring cells behave. Research has explored their role in skin regeneration, hair growth and calming inflammation, which is why they are now used to support skin recovery and renewal. It is an emerging area, and research is ongoing.

Skin Anatomy now offers E50 exosome treatments for both skin rejuvenation and hair. E50 is a cosmetic product rather than a licensed medicine, and it comes in two versions: E50 Skin, designed to support skin renewal, texture and tone, and E50 Hair, designed for the scalp. Both are made using a proprietary process called ENTR® Technology, and both are fully salmon-derived, which is why we check carefully for fish allergies before treatment.

Exosomes work best when they can reach the living layers of the skin. At Skin Anatomy, E50 is applied to the skin or scalp straight after gentle microneedling, or as part of a fractional CO2 laser session, when the tiny micro-channels created by the treatment help absorption. Many clients add E50 to their CO2 laser resurfacing to support recovery and help calm post-laser redness, and it is a combination our clients have chosen when they want the most from their laser treatment.

Every plan starts with a free consultation in Southwell with Magdalena Wasiewicz, our Founder and Lead Aesthetic Practitioner. We look at your skin or scalp, discuss your goals and history and set realistic expectations. For thinning hair, we ask about the pattern and timing of any hair loss. Sudden, patchy or unexplained hair loss should always be checked by your GP first, as it can have a medical cause that needs investigation.

How it Works

Procedure details

For skin, your face is cleansed and numbing cream is applied. We then perform gentle microneedling, creating thousands of tiny channels, and apply E50 Skin across the area so it can be absorbed. If you are having CO2 laser resurfacing, E50 is applied as part of that session instead. For hair, the scalp is cleansed, the thinning areas are microneedled and E50 Hair is worked into the scalp. Appointments usually take 45 to 60 minutes, including numbing time.

Benefits

E50 exosomes are designed to support the skin's natural regeneration, which may improve texture, tone, radiance and the appearance of fine lines and pores. They can help calm redness and inflammation, which is why they are popular after CO2 laser to support a smoother recovery. On the scalp, E50 Hair aims to support a healthier environment for hair follicles, and some clients see thicker-looking hair over a course. Exosome treatments are an emerging area, and results vary from person to person.

Risks & side effects

Most side effects come from the microneedling or laser rather than the exosomes. Expect redness and warmth similar to mild sunburn for one to three days, with possible mild swelling, tenderness, dryness and pinpoint bleeding during treatment. Some people notice sensitivity or a few breakouts as the skin renews. Allergic reactions are rare, but E50 is salmon-derived and not suitable if you have a fish allergy. Infection is uncommon when aftercare is followed. We explain all risks before you consent.

Recovery

After microneedling with E50, most clients have pink, slightly tight skin for one to three days and return to work within a day or two. Avoid make-up for 24 hours, and avoid exercise, swimming, saunas and active skincare for 48 to 72 hours. After a scalp treatment, avoid washing your hair for 24 hours. When E50 is added to CO2 laser, follow your CO2 aftercare plan, as recovery then follows the CO2 timeline of redness and rough, flaking skin before new skin appears around days 7 to 10.

When to contact us

Contact us if redness, swelling or pain is increasing rather than settling after 48 hours, if you notice yellow crusting, pus, blistering or spreading redness, or if you feel feverish or unwell, as these can be signs of infection. Please also tell us about any rash, itching or hives, which may indicate an allergic reaction. For difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips or throat, call 999 immediately. If hair loss suddenly worsens or becomes patchy, see your GP.

Your E50 Exosomes journey, step by step

  1. Step 1: Free consultation

We begin with a free consultation in Southwell. We examine your skin or scalp, take your medical history, check for fish allergies and discuss what E50 can and cannot realistically do. For hair concerns, we ask how long the thinning has been happening and whether it has been checked by your GP.

  2. Step 2: Preparing for treatment

Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids and scrubs three to five days before a skin treatment, and avoid sunbeds and sunburn. Arrive without make-up if you can. For a scalp treatment, come with clean, dry hair and no styling products. If you are combining E50 with CO2 laser, follow your CO2 preparation plan.

  3. Step 3: Treatment day

Once the numbing cream has taken effect, we perform gentle microneedling and apply E50 Skin or E50 Hair so the exosomes can be absorbed through the micro-channels. If E50 is part of your CO2 session, it is applied after the laser. Your skin will look pink and feel warm afterwards.

  4. Step 4: Aftercare & review

You leave with clear aftercare instructions. Skin plans may be a single add-on session or a short course, while hair plans usually involve several sessions a few weeks apart, as hair growth takes time. We review your progress and photographs at each visit so we can see how you are responding.

E50 exosomes with ENTR® technology

E50 exosomes are made using a proprietary process called ENTR® Technology. For E50 Skin, exosomes are collected from salmon testes cells and cultivated in dermis stem cell media; for E50 Hair, they are cultivated in embryonic stem cell media. Both the cell host and the media are fully salmon-derived, which the manufacturer says keeps free radicals and impurities low. According to the manufacturer, ENTR® limits the doubling time of the harvested exosomes, producing a homogenous, pure product with up to 10,000-fold more exosomes per unit than other exosomes.

E50 Exosomes: your questions answered

What are exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny vesicles released naturally by cells to communicate with each other. They carry proteins, lipids and nucleic acids that can influence how other cells behave. In aesthetics, exosome products are applied to the skin or scalp to support regeneration and calm inflammation. It is an emerging field and research is ongoing.

What is E50 exosome treatment used for?

E50 exosome treatment is used to support skin rejuvenation and hair. E50 Skin is used for dull skin, uneven texture, visible pores, fine lines and redness, and to support recovery after CO2 laser. E50 Hair is used on the scalp for gradual thinning. We confirm whether it suits you at a free consultation.

How is E50 applied at Skin Anatomy?

E50 is applied to the skin or scalp straight after gentle microneedling, or as part of a fractional CO2 laser session. The tiny micro-channels created by the treatment help the exosomes reach the deeper layers of the skin. Numbing cream is applied first, and the appointment usually takes 45 to 60 minutes.

Can I have E50 exosomes with CO2 laser?

Yes, E50 exosomes can be added to a CO2 laser resurfacing session. Applying them immediately after the laser is intended to support the skin's recovery and help calm redness. Your recovery still follows the CO2 laser timeline, so we explain the downtime and aftercare for both treatments at your consultation.

Does exosome treatment work for hair loss?

E50 Hair may help some people with gradual, pattern-type thinning by supporting a healthier scalp environment, but results vary and it does not work for everyone. It is a cosmetic treatment, not a medical cure for hair loss. Sudden, patchy or unexplained hair loss should be checked by your GP before any treatment.

When will I see results from E50 exosomes?

Skin often looks calmer and more radiant within two to four weeks as it renews, with further improvement over a course. Hair takes longer because of natural growth cycles, so changes are usually assessed after around three months or more. Everyone responds differently, and we track progress with photographs.

Are E50 exosomes safe?

E50 exosomes are generally well tolerated, but no treatment is free of risk. E50 is a cosmetic product rather than a licensed medicine, and exosome skincare is still an emerging area. Most side effects come from the microneedling, such as temporary redness and sensitivity. Because E50 is salmon-derived, it is not suitable if you have a fish allergy.

Is there downtime after exosome treatment?

After microneedling with E50, most clients have pink, warm skin for one to three days and return to normal activities within a day or two. When E50 is added to CO2 laser, downtime follows the CO2 laser timeline, usually around 7 to 10 days until new skin is revealed.
