Practitioner carrying out Endolaser skin tightening along the jawline

Endolaser Skin Tightening

A fine laser fibre placed just beneath the skin tightens and redefines the jawline, chin and neck from within. Endolaser is new at Skin Anatomy in Southwell, a minimally invasive option for early laxity when you want definition rather than added volume.

About Endolaser

Endolaser is a minimally invasive skin tightening treatment that delivers laser energy beneath the skin through a very fine fibre. The controlled heat tightens tissue and stimulates new collagen to firm and redefine the jawline, chin, lower face and neck over several months. At Skin Anatomy in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, it is offered after a free consultation.

Endolaser is one of the newest treatments at Skin Anatomy and is designed for people who have started to notice softening along the jawline, a little heaviness under the chin or looseness in the neck, but who are not looking for surgery. Instead of adding volume, as fillers do, it works on the structure of the skin and the fibrous tissue beneath it, using laser energy delivered from the inside to tighten the area and encourage the body to rebuild collagen.

During treatment a very fine laser fibre is passed beneath the skin through tiny entry points once the area has been numbed. The fibre is moved slowly in a fan-like pattern while it releases controlled pulses of energy. This heating causes existing collagen fibres to contract, which is why some tightening can often be felt within days, and it starts a longer healing response in which fresh collagen and elastin are laid down. Under the chin, the energy may also help to reduce small pockets of fat.

Because the results depend on your own collagen, they build gradually. Most clients notice firmer skin and a crisper outline in the first days, see continued improvement over 8 to 12 weeks, and reach their final result at around three to six months. Clients typically describe firmer skin, better definition and a fresher appearance. The effect is long-lasting, although skin continues to age naturally, and results vary from person to person.

Endolaser is not a facelift, and we will tell you honestly if it is not the right choice. It suits mild to moderate laxity best. Where there is a large amount of loose, heavy skin, a surgical opinion may give a better outcome, and we would rather say so at consultation than recommend a treatment that cannot meet your expectations. Clients travel to our Southwell clinic from Nottingham, Newark-on-Trent and Mansfield for this assessment.

How it Works

Procedure details

Your appointment begins with photographs and marking of the treatment area. The skin is cleansed and numbed, and tiny entry points are made so that a very fine laser fibre can be passed just beneath the surface. The practitioner moves the fibre slowly through the tissue in a fan-shaped pattern, delivering controlled pulses of laser energy while monitoring how the skin responds. Depending on how many areas are treated, the procedure takes around 60 to 90 minutes. The entry points are very small, and you go home the same day with written aftercare advice.

Benefits

Endolaser tightens from within rather than adding volume, so it can sharpen the jawline and neck without the heaviness some people worry about with filler. The heat contracts existing tissue for an early tightening effect and then stimulates new collagen, so results keep developing for months. There are no surgical incisions, recovery is usually quick and one session is often enough. Under the chin, it may also help to reduce small pockets of fat while tightening the skin over them.

Risks & side effects

Swelling is expected and usually settles within 3 to 7 days. Bruising, tenderness and a feeling of tightness for up to two weeks are common. Some people notice temporary numbness, tingling or small firm areas under the skin, which usually soften over the following weeks. Less common risks include an uneven contour or asymmetry, and rarely a burn, infection or irritation of a nerve causing temporary changes in sensation or movement. We discuss every risk fully at your consultation, and you sign a consent form before treatment.

Recovery

Most clients return to normal activities quickly, although you may prefer to plan a quieter few days while swelling settles. Expect the area to feel tight and a little tender for up to two weeks. Sleeping with your head slightly raised for the first nights, avoiding saunas, hot baths and strenuous exercise for about a week, and keeping the entry points clean all help. Initial tightening is often visible within days, with further improvement over 8 to 12 weeks and the final result at around 3 to 6 months.

When to contact us

Contact the clinic straight away if swelling is increasing rather than improving after the first few days, if you notice spreading redness, heat or discharge, or if you develop a raised temperature. Please also get in touch if an area becomes very painful, blistered or changes colour, if numbness or weakness is not improving, or if you have any concern about how you are healing. If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, or feel seriously unwell, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.

Your Endolaser journey, step by step

  1. Step 1: Free consultation

We start with an unhurried face-to-face consultation at our Southwell clinic. Magdalena assesses your skin quality, the degree of laxity and your facial structure, reviews your medical history and explains honestly whether Endolaser is likely to give you the result you want, or whether another treatment, or a surgical opinion, would suit you better.

  2. Step 2: Preparing for treatment

If you decide to go ahead, we book your treatment and give you written preparation advice. You may be asked to avoid alcohol and supplements that increase bruising, such as fish oil, for a few days beforehand. Never stop prescribed medication without advice from your GP. Arrive without make-up and plan a few quieter days afterwards.

  3. Step 3: Treatment day

Photographs are taken and the area is marked, cleansed and numbed. The fine laser fibre is then introduced through tiny entry points and moved slowly beneath the skin to deliver controlled energy. Treatment usually takes 60 to 90 minutes, and you can go home straight afterwards with clear aftercare instructions and our contact details.

  4. Step 4: Aftercare & review

Swelling and tightness are normal for the first days, and we stay in touch while you heal. A review appointment lets us check your progress and compare photographs as collagen rebuilds over three to six months, and decide together whether any top-up or complementary treatment would genuinely be worthwhile.

Endolaser fibre technology

Endolaser uses a laser source connected to an optical fibre fine enough to pass beneath the skin through a tiny entry point. Energy is released at the tip of the fibre, so heat is delivered precisely to the layer that needs tightening rather than through the skin surface. This controlled heating contracts collagen fibres for an early lifting effect and triggers the skin's healing response, which lays down fresh collagen and elastin over the following months. Settings are adjusted for each area and each client.

Endolaser: your questions answered

What does Endolaser treat?

Endolaser mainly treats mild to moderate skin laxity on the lower face and neck. It is used to sharpen the jawline, tighten the area under the chin, improve looseness of the lower face and neck and lift mild sagging. In suitable cases it can also improve crepey under-eye skin. We confirm what it can realistically achieve for you at consultation.

Is Endolaser painful?

Most clients find Endolaser comfortable once the area has been numbed. You may feel pressure, movement and warmth as the fibre works, and the area can feel sore and tight afterwards. Everyone's experience differs, so we check in with you throughout and can pause whenever you need a break.

How long is the downtime after Endolaser?

Downtime is usually short. Swelling typically lasts 3 to 7 days, there may be some mild bruising, and the skin can feel tight for up to two weeks. Most clients return to work and normal activities quickly, but you may prefer to avoid important social events for about a week.

When will I see results from Endolaser?

Many clients notice initial tightening within days of treatment. The more important changes come as new collagen forms, with continued improvement over 8 to 12 weeks and the final result visible at around three to six months. Results vary with age, skin quality and lifestyle.

How long do Endolaser results last?

Endolaser results are long-lasting because they rely on collagen your own body produces. Skin continues to age naturally, however, so the effect will gradually soften over time. Protecting your skin from the sun, not smoking and keeping a stable weight all help, and some clients choose a top-up treatment in future.

How many Endolaser sessions will I need?

Most people need only one Endolaser session. Occasionally a second treatment is recommended once the first has fully matured, for example where laxity is more marked. We review your progress and photographs before suggesting anything further, and we never book more treatment than you need.

Is Endolaser an alternative to a facelift?

Endolaser is not a replacement for a facelift. It offers a minimally invasive way to tighten mild to moderate laxity with a short recovery, whereas surgery can remove excess skin and reposition deeper tissue. If you have significant loose skin, we will tell you honestly that a surgical opinion may serve you better.

Can Endolaser get rid of a double chin?

Endolaser can improve a soft double chin in suitable clients by tightening the skin under the chin, and it may help to reduce small pockets of fat there. It is not a weight-loss treatment. Where fat rather than loose skin is the main concern, we may discuss fat dissolving injections instead or alongside it.

Where can I get Endolaser near Nottingham or Mansfield?

Skin Anatomy offers Endolaser at our clinic at 17 Queen Street, Southwell, Nottinghamshire. Southwell sits between Nottingham, Mansfield and Newark-on-Trent, and many of our clients travel from those towns. Every treatment starts with a free consultation, so you can meet us and ask questions before deciding.

Who should not have Endolaser?

Endolaser is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for anyone under 18, or where there is active infection in the area. We also assess carefully if you have a bleeding disorder, take blood thinners or form keloid scars. People with a lot of heavy, loose skin may be better served by a surgical opinion.

What are the prices for Endolaser in Southwell and Nottingham?

Endolaser at Skin Anatomy starts from £650. Endolaser – jawline & lower face: From £850; Endolaser – neck: From £650. All prices include VAT; where a price is shown as "from", your exact cost depends on your assessment and is confirmed at a free consultation before you book. See the price guide for every treatment.
